Maribel lived in Virginia with her parents, but there are few details about their lives. As a teenager she wanted to pursue a career within the legal field and aspired to be a lawyer. After high school graduation in the year 1819, she attended University of Virginia. University of Virginia, where she received a degree in an emphasis in German as well as Foreign Policy. It is among the most historically rich universities within the US with its roots dating back to 1819 when it was founded by Thomas Jefferson, one of the people who wrote the Declaration of Independence. In Jefferson's Academical Village a UNESCO World Heritage Site is situated, at the moment, the school offers several programmes. About 1,600 acres of land are dedicated to the university's central campus and many more are devoted to its research park, and the school's farm.
